Dr. Chintan Shankar Patel is a Consultant Pulmonologist in Vapi, practising at Advanced Chest Clinic in Arogyam 3 in Vapi. With a Diplomate of the National Board (DNB) in TB and Chest Diseases, he specialises in asthma, bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy, COPD, TB and ILD.

Dr. Chintan Shankar studied and trained for the DNB title in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Science at Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune. This is a 550-bed multispeciality hospital – the first to obtain NABH accreditation in Pune. Earlier, he graduated with an MBBS degree from Medical College Baroda and the associated Sir Sayaji Rao Gaikwad Civil Hospital, which is one of the largest hospitals in Gujarat. He also completed his Rotational Internship at this hospital in 2008-09.

Dr. Chintan Shankar is a regular participant at medical conferences relating to his areas of specialisation, where he has often made oral or poster presentations. He has attended a large number of workshops and continuing medical education (CME) sessions to further his knowledge and skills and keep in touch with the latest developments in his field. As a career objective, he intends to aspire to be a trailblazer rather than always sticking to the beaten path.

  • Thesis: To evaluate the accuracy and safety of CT guided Trucut biopsy in the diagnosis of intrathoracic lesion and to correlate the CT findings with histopathological features.
